Where: Queen Elizabeth Park (Start: Parking lot near 33rd Avenue and Cambie Street, under west end cherry trees)

Queen Elizabeth Park with Alex Downie of Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation Board. A guided tree walk highlighting the many exotic and native trees at Queen Elizabeth Park's arboretum, founded in 1949, contains tree species from around the world. This walk will focus on the ornamental qualities and garden-worthiness of the wide palette of trees we can grow in Vancouver.


When: April 1st, 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Where: Starting at the Rose Arbour at the Lower Rose Garden, Pipeline Rd., Stanley Park
Presented by: Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival & Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation

Stanley Park with Arborist Bill Stephen. The walk will use a lovely grove of Yoshino Cherry trees as a focal point to discover many of the beautiful and unusual ornamental trees and plants in Stanley Park's Shaekspeare Garden. It will also discuss some of the history of the park and how the Park Board balances demands of the public with the need for open green space.


When: April 7th, 10:00am to 11:30am
Where: Outside Fraser Parkade by the Asian Centre, just east of the Nitobe Memorial Garden at 6440 Memorial Rd.

UBC with Douglas Justice of the UBC Botanical Garden & Centre for Plant Research. The walk, "UBC's Yoshino (and other) Flowering Cherries," will include cherry viewing along Lower Mall and a visit to Nitobe Memorial Garden.
